This design was my second project in the CALARTS UX Design program through Coursera. My goal was to create a website for a hypothetical restaurant. The site was required to feature a way to order food, an about us page, and a process allowing food selection.

Even though this was an imaginary company, I created a client information sheet and envisioned hypothetical users'. In reality, I would want to investigate this same information in a client's company and its target users. Next, I engaged in secondary research on best practices in restaurant website design. I also did a competitive audit between two successful restaurant websites. This design also required me to create a moodboard to guide the design outcome.

I planned my overall design through a site map to lay out content and potential interactions needed on each web page. I drew this out in Illustrator to quickly block out the plan.

Once I created the site map, I began drafting the wireframes. This step was an interesting exercise because it was my first time using the tool Balsamiq. I found the program was a quick way to rough out wireframe iterations.

Once I had finalized my wireframes, using Adobe XD, I created high-fidelity mockups of the restaurant website. Once satisfied with the product, I planned out interactions in a prototype for the website. Please click the button below to view the prototype out of Adobe XD.
